Hidden Commitments: At the heart of the Immunity to Change model are our hidden commitments — the subconscious beliefs and fears that quietly hold us back. These commitments often conflict with our stated goals, creating an inner resistance to change that can feel impossible to overcome.
Competing Commitments: Hidden commitments frequently work against what we say we want. Acting as invisible counterweights, they make meaningful change difficult — even when our desire to grow is genuine.
Big Assumptions: Our hidden commitments are rooted in deeply held assumptions about the world and our place in it. These assumptions shape our beliefs and behaviors, often entirely outside our conscious awareness.
Tests and Experiments: The ITC model empowers you to design and conduct targeted experiments that challenge your hidden commitments and big assumptions.

Amber asked the tough questions, taught me how to take out the mental trash, reminded me to treat myself and others with grace, and so much more! This was by far the most valuable experience of my professional career and will serve me well no matter what the future brings. Thank you!
"I felt overwhelmed in my role, career, working from home, and was looking for further direction into these challenges. That’s when I came across one of her posts on LinkedIn about building a resilient mindset and decided to schedule a discovery call. I started to see improvements in our first few coaching sessions. I learned how to achieve the results I want in my career and life by becoming intentional with my thoughts. I can now say after completing coaching, I feel more confident and in control of my career. Amber will ask you the right questions to diagnose your challenges, and I highly recommend her.
"Amber is accountable, relatable and often given accolades for her high-level of emotional intelligence. Whether coaching an individual or leading a large group in a learning discussion, she will engage the learner and deliver results."
While her technical skills are exemplary, Amber’s leadership is her greatest asset. Amber consistently scores in the top 5% on the Gallup survey of all leaders, approximately 1200, in our organization. Her team genuinely appreciates her coaching and investment in their development.
Amber has a unique ability to challenge and coach while being supportive and transparent. She has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the learning and development space and the programs and projects she led were not only exciting to be a part of but delivered real results. Amber is a leader I continue to learn from and am glad to have her in my network.

"I have been in clinical research for 20 years and working with Amber has been the best professional learning experience I have had. In my current role, I work with a variety of cross-functional leaders and many MDs. I navigate a lot of political environments; and working with Amber has given me tangible tools to objectively approach each situation. It is fair to say that I am not the same leader, employee or person that I was before I started this coaching journey."
"We had the privilege of learning from the brilliant Amber Anderson, who guided us through powerful strategies to harness the full potential of our minds. From understanding the neuroscience behind our thoughts to practical techniques for mental mastery, Amber’s insights were both enlightening and actionable."
"Situations at work would have either been mishandled or neglected due to a lack of experience or training in how to manage people and address challenging situations if I hadn't had her guidance!"
The Adaptive Breakthrough is a 6-month executive intensive designed specifically for introverted and highly sensitive leaders who are tired of performing a leadership style that was never theirs. If you're a manager, director, or rising senior leader who knows you're capable but feels exhausted by the constant self-monitoring, impression management, and energy drain of "showing up" the way you think you're supposed to, this was built for you. We work together through my Regulate → Reframe → Rise framework, which combines neuroscience-informed nervous system regulation with the Harvard-based Immunity to Change methodology to create leadership shifts that actually stick.
The Immunity to Change (ITC) approach, developed at Harvard, is a research-backed process for uncovering the hidden internal commitments and assumptions that keep you stuck, even when you're genuinely motivated to grow. In our first session together, we build your personal 4-Column Immunity Map to identify your improvement goal, the competing behaviors working against it, the unconscious commitments driving those behaviors, and the Big Assumptions holding the whole pattern in place. From there, we design real-world "Safe-to-Fail" experiments that let you test those assumptions in your actual work environment and gather data on what's really true. This isn't theory. It's a structured, evidence-based process for dismantling the internal brakes you didn't know you had.
Most leadership development skips straight to skills. "Speak up more." "Work on your executive presence." But for introverted and HSP leaders, layering skills on top of a dysregulated nervous system and unexamined beliefs is like building a house on sand. The Regulate → Reframe → Rise framework addresses this in sequence. We start with Regulate, stabilizing your nervous system so you can actually access your intelligence and presence in high-stakes moments. Then we move to Reframe, using the ITC methodology to dismantle the self-limiting beliefs keeping you small. Only then do we Rise into the executive presence and influence strategies that will actually hold, because the foundation is finally there.
The program runs over 6-months with two high-impact coaching sessions per month, each 45 minutes and designed for the busy leader schedule. We kick off with a 90-minute deep-dive diagnostic session to build your Immunity to Change Map. Between sessions, you'll have a dedicated implementation weeks each month to run your experiments in real time, plus async support via Slack throughout. The rhythm is intentional: your breakthroughs happen in your actual work environment, not just in our conversation. The investment is $6,000. There is a 12-month option available for a 10% discount ($10,800).
You're ready if you've been getting feedback like "work on your executive presence" or "speak up more" and it just feels like code for "be someone you're not." You're ready if you're good at your job but exhausted by the second job of managing how you're perceived every minute of every day. You're ready if you've tried the usual leadership development and it felt forced, inauthentic, or like it wore off in a week. This process requires honesty with yourself, a willingness to look at what's really driving your patterns, and the capacity to run small experiments between sessions. If that sounds like relief rather than more work, we should talk.
The Chemistry Call is exactly what it sounds like—a chance for us to see if we're a good fit to work together. No pressure, no pitch. Just an honest conversation about your goals and how I might support you in achieving them. right away!
