The leadership shift

As your responsibilities grow, so does the opportunity to expand your impact.

Leadership expands from personal expertise to direction and team ownership.ExpertiseDirectionOwnership

Your expertise becomes a foundation for how you lead through others.

You may have built your reputation by knowing the answer, catching the details, and being the person everyone could count on.

Now more of your contribution depends on setting direction, influencing decisions, and helping other people do work you used to handle yourself.

That can be a difficult shift when the team still brings every problem to you, your calendar leaves little time to think, or feedback like “be more strategic” comes with no explanation of what to do differently.

Together, we work through those situations, prepare for the decisions ahead, and strengthen your influence in the role you already have.

Leading as
work changes

AI adds another layer: leaders are making decisions about its use while expectations, responsibilities, and the work itself are shifting. Coaching gives you space to strengthen your own judgment and work through how you’ll guide your team through those changes.

Start with what’s happening

Bring the situation that keeps taking your attention.

The work you keep taking back.

Delegate with clearer expectations and follow-through, so ownership stays with your team.

The conversation you keep postponing.

Address performance, boundaries, or disagreement before avoidance creates a bigger problem.

The room where your thinking isn’t landing.

Make your perspective easier to understand and act on, without rehearsing every sentence.

The responsibility that has outgrown your old habits.

Decide where your attention belongs as your role becomes more strategic.

The right amount of support

Three ways to get support.

Choose a situation below to explore the options. You don’t need to decide before we talk.

Never Start Alone

Make a deliberate start in a new role.

A promotion or new job brings expectations before you’ve had time to understand all of them. Your team is forming impressions, your boss has priorities, and you’re learning which relationships and decisions will shape your first few months.

Never Start Alone gives you support through that first quarter. We’ll clarify what success means, prepare for important conversations, and identify the early moves that deserve your attention.

  • Two sessions per month, with time to apply the work between conversations.
  • Practical tools and resources to help you establish priorities and leadership routines.
  • Support between sessions Monday through Thursday for questions connected to the coaching work.

For newly hired or promoted leaders, leaders inheriting a team, or those making an intentional reset.

Executive Coaching

Work through the patterns limiting your influence.

You know you need to delegate, speak more directly, or stop becoming the answer to every problem. You may have tried changing those habits already, only to find yourself doing the same thing when the pressure rises.

Over six months, we focus on the influence and impact you want to have in your role and examine the patterns getting in the way.

I use the Harvard-developed Immunity to Change methodology to uncover the competing commitments and assumptions behind those patterns. You’ll test those assumptions through small, practical experiments in real conversations and decisions.

  • Two sessions per month to work through current challenges and review what you’re learning.
  • Focused practice between sessions, built into the work you’re already doing.
  • Support between sessions Monday through Thursday.

For leaders ready to strengthen their influence, lead through others, or address a recurring pattern that has followed them across roles.

Coaching Corner

Give leaders access to coaching when a situation needs attention.

A difficult conversation, strained relationship, or unfamiliar responsibility doesn’t always call for a six-month engagement. Sometimes a leader needs a confidential conversation and a practical next step.

Coaching Corner is a coaching day arranged with your organization. Eligible leaders book private sessions to work through situations they’re facing now.

  • Up to six private, 45-minute sessions in a day.
  • Virtual or on-site delivery.
  • A recurring schedule agreed with your organization, such as weekly, monthly, or quarterly.

For organizations that want to make timely coaching available to several leaders.

How the work creates change

Work on the response underneath the habit.

If delegating feels like risking your reputation, knowing how to delegate won’t necessarily help you let go.

If disagreement feels like damaging a relationship, you can know the right words and still avoid the conversation.

We work with those concerns alongside the practical skills.

Regulate

Stay present under pressure, so you can think clearly when the situation gets difficult.

Reframe

Examine the assumptions shaping your response, including what you believe will happen if you speak more directly, delegate, or share responsibility.

Rise

Bring your strengths and judgment into the decisions and conversations where they can have greater impact.

A particular depth of experience

Quiet leaders.Technical experts.Greater strategic
responsibility.

I work with leaders across styles and levels, with particular depth in supporting reflective, introverted leaders and technical experts whose responsibilities now extend beyond their own expertise.

If you’ve been told to become more visible or show more executive presence, we’ll make that feedback specific enough to work with. The goal is to help your judgment reach the people who need it and expand your influence in a way that draws on your strengths and feels like you.

“I have been in clinical research for 20 years and working with Amber has been the best professional learning experience I have had. In my current role, I work with a variety of cross-functional leaders and many MDs. I navigate a lot of political environments; and working with Amber has given me tangible tools to objectively approach each situation. It is fair to say that I am not the same leader, employee or person that I was before I started this coaching journey.”
